Carolinas Care Partnership
The mission of the Carolinas CARE Partnership is to foster and ensure a regional approach to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS, and to meet with compassion and dignity the needs of those affected by these diseases. The Carolinas CARE Partnership was established in 1990 as the Regional HIV/AIDS Consortium through a joint effort of the Foundation for the Carolinas and The United Way of Central Carolinas. We were initially the administrator of the federal Ryan White CARE Act and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs that provided essential care, treatment and housing services in 13-counties surrounding the Charlotte, N.C. metro area.

House of Mercy
The core mission of House of Mercy is to provide care in a residential setting for persons living with AIDS who can no longer care for themselves and face homelessness. In addition to room and board, House of Mercy provides clinical treatments and therapies designed to provide the best in medical services and also a variety of supplemental services to enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual lives of our residents. Residents live in private rooms with home furnishings and personal effects to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and familiar. Residents are welcomed to House of Mercy in an environment of unconditional love and acceptance. We serve men and women who are living with advanced AIDS without regard to race, gender, religion or sexual orientation. We acknowledge and foster respect for individual differences, ensuring that our residents are treated with dignity and compassion. We strive to create, through action and education, a more understanding society in relation to persons living with HIV/AIDS.
